Hey there!

Over the last few days we've talked about the
different ways you can analyze your market, come
up with a unique angle and position your consulting
business so that it's destined for success.

Today is our final email in this series, and so I
want to leave you with a few final tips and strategies
that I hope will help you launch your business and
land that first client.

Let's start with writing your pitch.

When it comes time to launching your coaching business,
you're going to have to get used to selling yourself
and pitching your offer so that it appeals to the
right audience.

Your credentials, your personal experiences and successes
and everything that makes you a great coach will all
play a huge role in securing those clients.

You need to be comfortable highlighting the many reasons
why people should come to you for help and how you can
help them accomplish their goals.

You also need to remember to highlight what's in it for
them. After all, that's the only reason people will be
willing to pay you for help: they expect results!

One way you can launch your consulting business while
reassuring clients that you have the information and
help they need is by offering a free trial session.

Limit this session to 20-30 minutes. Provide them with
an initial free Skype call, or if you want to automate things,
consider creating a private Webinar that people have to
register for in order to gain access to the content.

If you decide on the free trial session strategy, you'll
want to make it so people feel they have to apply.

This makes them feel as though when you accept them, they've
accomplished something, passed a test, and are special.

I know it sounds silly, but exclusivity and being approved
after applying for something helps to get people excited.

It also will help encourage them to sign on for the full
coaching program out of fear that if they don't act quickly,
someone else who was approved will take their spot.

During the initial session you'll ask them for an outline
as to what they need help with.  You'll then provide some
basic information that outlines the key steps needed for

This session isn't about solving their problems. It's
designed to demonstrate to them that you know how to help
them get to where they want to be.  That's key.

Don't give too much away!

That's why it's important to limit sessions to 30 minutes
or less. You don't want to spend too much time catering
to people who may never sign on. At the same time, you
want to have an opportunity to show them that you know
what you're talking about and that you can truly help
them.

This single strategy has been used by countless coaches
and consultants who want to qualify their clients without
forcing them to commit right away.

Survey and profit

Hello,

Today's email is all about how you can take
feedback from Facebook groups you're a member of,
your own social media following or even your email
lists in order to put the finishing touches on
your consultation business before you launch.

This isn't about pitching to your followers. You're
just gathering a bit more information before you
launch your business.

The idea is to survey their wants and needs and
to also test the waters so you can determine
overall interest in a coaching program.

You do this before you launch so that you don't
waste any time planning out every angle of your
coaching program only to find out that you failed
to hit the key points your audience will be most
interested in (and willing to pay for!)

Craft an email, Facebook or social media post
that leads them to a survey form. Keep it simple!

You don't want it to be too lengthy because no
one is going to spend too much time filling out
fields and providing an abundance of information.

Besides, you don't need that.

What you're looking for is to ask 4-5 main questions.

These should be questions relating to the modules
you plan to create, or the lesson plans you want
to hand out to clients.

So ask things like:

If you could get help with one thing in your business,
what would it be?

If someone was willing to share one powerful strategy
that would help you make more money, what would you
want them to focus on?

What are you struggling with in your business?

Questions like that will help you form the basis of
your coaching program while keeping things on the
right track.

Or, if you plan to launch a personal-based coaching
program, ask them similar questions but tailor it towards
identifying their personal fears, weaknesses or what they
need help with the most.

The answers to your questions will be invaluable to you.

They will tell you exactly what you need to focus on
and quite often, they can help you come up with a unique
angle for your coaching business.

If you aren't interested in sending people to a survey
form, you can shoot them off an email or write the post
in your facebook groups and allow people to respond
publicly.  Just keep in mind that some people are
private and may not want to share this information with
the world.

Building your Online Presence



Hello,

We're going to change directions a bit today
because it's time to get your name out there
and become visible.

Don't worry, it won't take much time to
lay the ground work. :)

One of the easiest ways to land your first client
is to focus on building a list.  Your list is a powerful
sales tool and it helps you better connect with your
target audience.

You can begin building a mailing list by creating a
simple blog that provides valuable information, posts
and articles. 

Demonstrate your commitment to helping your market
while also highlighting your expertise.

A well-crafted blog is one of the most powerful ways of
building a foundation for your consulting business. It serves
as a launchpad and helps connect you with potential clients
without cold calling or hard selling.

Your objective should be to publish 2-3 posts a week that
tackle different problems your customers are facing. 

Don’t be afraid to over-deliver, your content won’t take away
from the potential to land clients.  Most people prefer one-on-one
coaching because they need more help or crave personal guidance. 

If you want to give your blog visitors an easy way to download
your posts and content so they can refer to it later (helping your
brand become memorable), you’ll want to grab a copy of

When building your blog, you'll want to add the following
pages:

Bio: Who you are and how you help your market.
This can be as detailed or as short as you wish, but make
sure that you list all possible credentials. If you are
worried about sounding like a bragger, write your bio
in the third person. :)

Contact Page: You can integrate a contact form, post a
link to a support desk in your blog's navigation menu
or just post a direct email address. It doesn't matter,
as long as people can contact you easily and you have an
organized way of keeping track of those emails.

At least 3-4 posts.
This week I want you to focus on writing 3-4 posts about
hot topics in your market. Don't try not sell anything in
this content. The objective is to just to fill your blog
with valuable, high-quality content that helps your
market.

Your blog is going to serve as the face for your business.

It's how most of your clients will get to know you, so you
want to make sure it's professional and that you demonstrate
your commitment to helping your audience in some way.

give you some last-minute tips before you launch that

Don't just be another face

Hi again,

By now you should have all of the following:

* A clear target audience in mind.
* A good idea as to what that market wants.
* A unique angle to make your consulting business stand out.

Missing the third item?

No problem!

Coming up with a unique angle isn't always easy, especially
if you're in a competitive market where there are a lot of
coaching programs.

That doesn't mean it's impossible.

A unique angle doesn't have to be outrageously different.

It just has to demonstrate to your audience that you're willing
to go the extra mile. That you're somehow different. That you
aren't teaching exactly the same thing as someone else.

Because here's the one thing a lot of new consultants fail to
realize:

A client who hires you has likely already worked with someone else.

That doesn't mean they've hired a coach or consultant, but what it
does mean is they've likely purchased digital products or physical
products, paid for books and tools in an attempt to teach themselves
everything they need to know.

Then they either realized they couldn't do it alone, or they're too
lazy (or smart!) to want to deal with a difficult learning curve
when they know they can just pick your brain and save themselves
the trouble.

So this is another reason why you need a cool, unique angle that
will help you stand out from the mundane... the stuff they've already
seen and likely paid for.

So today I want you to think about how you can create a unique
module that you haven't personally seen somewhere else. Or, at the
very least, you extend an existing module so it provides extra
coverage.

In other words, you're going to give a fresh perspective and
go the extra mile.

That's all you have to do today.  If you can get this done, you'll
be one step closer to laughing that 6-figure business.

Asking the right questions

Hi again!

Yesterday you got into the trenches and started
evaluating possible niche markets. You've launched
your covert operation and begun spying on your future
clients.

I hope you had fun on your mission. ;)

Just to be clear, the work you did yesterday is
some of the important steps you could take in clearly
identifying who your audience is and how you can best
help them.

In other words, it was extremely important work, so
be proud of yourself. You just completed one of the vital
steps in building the foundation for a successful
consulting business.

Because now you should have a good idea as to what most
people in that market need... what they're desperate for help
with and how you're going to serve that need.

Your consultant business relies on one major component:

Providing help to a client so that they can accomplish something.

Whether it's a personal goal, a professional objective, or they
just need a bit of hand-holding along the way, if you want those
clients to spread the word and do the recruiting for you, you need
to make sure they're successful.

At the end of that journey they agree to take with you, you both
need to feel fulfilled. You need to know you helped someone in a
major way, and your client needs to feel their time and money was
well spent.

So, all of this spying you're doing? It will help you become a
better consultant or coach. It will lay the groundwork for how
you can best help them.

So today, I want you to write down a list of 5-6 things that
you've discovered while searching those groups.

What do people ask a lot of questions about?
What are people struggling with?
What level are they at? (Beginner, Intermediate, etc).

The more data you mine, the easier it will be to create a
solid outline for your coaching program.  You won't waste your
(or your client's time) on things they don't care about.

You'll be able to create a path from start-to-finish that
your client will be thrilled with.

Do that homework. I promise, you'll thank me for it later.

Researching your clients

Hey there,

So yesterday, I asked you to consider your
own skills and experiences in order to come
up with a target audience and angle for your
consulting program.

I hope you were successful in coming up with
just a few ideas.

If so, the next step is to validate them.

The last thing you want to do is venture into a
market where clients really aren't willing to pay
what you're asking for, right?

So, you need to qualify the niche and make sure that
there's an active demand and that clients are willing
to pay up!

There's no one-way to do this.  The key is to really
get to know your audience.

You want to dig deep into your niche, connect with your
potential tribe and then keep a pulse on your market
while you gather intel.

One of the ways I do this when evaluating possible
niche markets is to join active Facebook groups.

Facebook groups serve as open forums where people who
are interested in specific topics and ideas can discuss
problems, share solutions, ask questions and just get
to know each other.

It's also a fantastic way to infiltrate markets so
that you can gain insight as to what people are most
interested in (and willing to pay for).

So today, I want you to scour Facebook for 4-5 active
groups. You're only interested in groups where there's
a decent size following and where people are engaged (meaning
that there's recent discussions and ongoing posts).

Don't post questions or try to advertise your services
in the group. For now, you're just tapping into what your
potential audience is struggling with so you can come up
with a possible angle for your consulting business.

grow their businesses, or build a memorable brand,
consider the different skillsets you bring to the table.

Have you ever created a successful blog? Do you know
how to design a website?  Are you familiar with SEO?
Do you know how to create an active Facebook group?

Have you ever published a book? Do you know where to
find virtual assistants or other freelancers?

Once the wheels begin turning, you'll quickly
realize just how unlimited the possibilities
really are.

So today, I just want you to consider your skills,
interests and both professional and personal
experiences so you can pinpoint a niche market
that needs your help.
